In 2015 alone 1,275 people in Michigan died from opioid overdoses. That’s not just more than died in gun and traffic deaths by a state, it’s a crisis that is hitting more and more families every year. I will do everything in my power to bring more resources to the 10th district that has been hit so hard by heroin and prescription drug addiction. Money to support local law enforcement and money for effective treatment centers and any innovative solutions that can help stop this scourge. I’ll also fight to hold pharmaceutical companies accountable and stop any misguided attempts to divert our limited resources to an unproductive war on marijuana.
